I originally began my academic career at Leeds University on an English Literature course, but a tumble down a flight of stairs and a broken leg pushed me back home to Manchester with a lot of time on my hands. I have always loved art and crafts, but was pushed towards the humanities at school, recovery from broken bones is a slow and tedious affair, so I took up as many crafts as I could, including making jewellery.
What began as a way to fill my time sparked long abandoned creative aspirations, but I was frustrated by the limitations of the kitchen table hobbyist and was soon looking for courses to teach me more. This passion for jewellery and interest in new techniques, materials and perspectives has never left me. I am excited to evolve with my practice and hopefully continue to make interesting, thought provoking pieces for many years to come.
